Delays for NBN HFC Customers

At this point in time, there is a global supply shortage impacting NBN installation for HFC (hybrid fibre-coaxial) connections. Many customers that have this type of NBN technology connected to their premises will not be able to have a new NBN installation (with some exceptions). The problem is forecasted to be rectified sometime in June 2021. The exceptions that NBN have made for people that can get their NBN HFC internet connection are- medically vulnerable people, emergency services, or if you’re moving to premises where the previous occupier already had an NBN HFC service.

For the people that have to wait, in the meantime, there will be other options for Internet, such as; cable broadband and ADSL for your fixed internet (internet on the landline); for wireless internet- 3G, 4G; and 5G and other types of fixed wireless services are available in certain areas of cities. If you’re not sure or would like to find out more, contact your service provider.

You can also contact us if you would like to arrange a site visit from a private NBN technician – Gold Coast, to see what type of Internet technology is available at your home or office, and get you ready for the NBN installation. We can also help you find the right service provider and internet plan for our budget, and offer other services such as modem installation, additional NBN point, getting you faster internet and stronger wifi signal.
